Craggan Outdoors: activities, bunkhouse & licensed cafe venue - Grantown on Spey, nr Aviemore, Cairngorms National Park, Scottish Highlands

Awarded ‘Best Visitor Attraction’ in the Highlands & Islands Tourism Awards 2012, Craggan Outdoors is based on beautiful Speyside in the Cairngorms National Park, & offers one of the widest ranges of outdoor activities in the Highlands.

At Craggan Outdoors the emphasis is on offering easy access to a wide range of fun and challenging activities, enabling visitors of all ages and abilities to enjoy their time with us, & to be pleased with what they have achieved. With the majority of activities available on-site - minimising your time spent travelling & helping minimise our impact on the environment - instructors that are chosen for their people skills as much as their technical abilities, bright & spacious bunkhouse & cosy bothy accommodation, as well as a welcoming licensed cafe, Craggan Outdoors provides everything required by the activity seeking visitor.

We run activities for

A wide range of groups, including family & friends, schools, colleges & universities, clubs & societies, community organisations & charities, Scouts, Guides & Boys' Brigade, stag & hen parties, & corporates.

Location

Craggan Outdoors is conveniently located and easy to find. We are based at Craggan Golf Course, 1 mile south of Grantown-on-Spey, right beside the main A95 Grantown-Aviemore Road. We are 10 minutes off the main A9 north-south route. Craggan Outdoors is also close to good public transport links. Buses run to Grantown-on-Spey, and trains to nearby Aviemore and Carrbridge. Broomhill Station (the location for Glenbogle Station in the BBC's 'Monarch of the Glen') on the Strathspey Steam Railway is also nearby. For those coming in from further afield, Craggan Outdoors is only 45 minutes from Inverness Airport. Inverness is well served by a number of airlines, particularly easyJet and FlyBe which both offer good value flights from across England, including Gatwick, Luton, Southampton, Bristol and Exeter.

Accommodation

Craggan Outdoors offer good value, comfortable accommodation for individuals and groups in our Bunkhouse and Bothy, located side-by-side in a secluded and picturesque spot at the top of the Glenbeg Estate, just a couple of miles off the A95 Grantown-Aviemore road. Peace and quiet is guaranteed, along with the fantastic views, yet it is just a 5 minute drive into nearby Grantown-on-Spey.

Craggan Bunkhouse is a light, bright and airy converted farmhouse that sleeps up to 27 people over three rooms, two bunk-rooms of 11 and 12 beds each, and a cosier 4-bed room. Craggan Bunkhouse is double-glazed and central heated. Craggan Bothy is a converted steading offering snug and cosy accommodation across a single floor. The bunk-room sleeps six people, with room to squeeze in an extra mattress or bunk if necessary. There is a wood burner for cosy evenings, although Craggan Bothy is centrally heated.
