Lagganlia Centre provides high quality Outdoor Education courses for schools & colleges,  2/5 day (or longer) Adventures or Expeditions for groups of all sorts - families, friends, students, organisations, businesses etc (including John Muir and Duke of Edinburgh Awards) and Adventure Activity Days for our self-catering guests or larger groups of day visitors all within the astounding natural environment of the Cairngorms National Park. 

We offer stunning surroundings, high quality tuition led by our experienced, knowledgable, qualified and dedicated team of instructors, a programme designed around you - to meet your aims and desired outcomes and .. a sense of achievement and a lot of  fun!

 

 

Activities offered

Whether as part of a full board mid-week/weekend activity break or quiet self-catering weekend away in the peace, tranquility and beauty of the Scottish Highlands, our activities are uniquely designed around your needs and the outcomes that you want to achieve .

Activities on offer include archery, abseiling, rock-climbing, sailing, mountain-biking, white water rafting, kayaking, canoeing, Spey river descent, gorge-walking, sailing, boarding/blading on our artificial slope, problem solving, environmental studies and in the winter: skiing and snow boarding on snow, winter mountaineering and much, much more.

We run activities for

Children & young people (groups); adults (groups); corporate clients (groups); self-catering guests (groups).

Location

Lagganlia is situated in heart of the Cairngorms National Park in the beautiful Glen Feshie, surrounded by nature reserves, lochs and mountains. Halfway between Kingussie and Aviemore on the B970, we are easy to reach from the main A9 trunk road and can be reached by road from Edinburgh or Glasgow in little over two hours.

Accommodation

Lagganlia Centre consists of a main building with 58 beds in en-suite rooms sleeping 1 - 6, and 5 comfortable forest lodges varying in capacity from 6 to 18 beds, with a total of 125 beds on site.

Some lodge rooms are en-suite, some have shared facilities.  All 5 lodges have fully equipped self-catering kitchens, lounges with Freesat TV, DVD players and Wi-Fi connection, drying room facilities and  outdoor seating/BBQ's.

The main building (An Taigh Mor - the Big House) has a downstairs coffee bar, visiting group leader room with PC, Lecture room and library and large common room with Freesat and audio/visual equipment. There is also a large dining room (but no self catering facilities for most of the year as the kitchen/dining room also provides meals for full board groups staying in lodges).

Surrounding the buildings are beautiful birch and scots pine woodlands, access down to to the River Feshie, a range of facilities for groups to use including a tipi, climbing traverse wall, bike skills track,  dipping pond and low ropes course and walking and mountain biking tracks starting from your door into some of the most beautiful areas in Scotland.
