Caledonian Discovery offers a unique activity holiday on  large and very comfortable barges cruising Scottish Highland waterways. The barge moves each day to a new location and guests can just relax aboard and enjoy the spectacular scenery or take part in a wide variety of activities.

Activities offered

Our own activities, which are included in the price, include walking, sailing, canoeing and mountain biking.   We also run special interest weeks including wildlife and music.

Location

Our barges cruise on the Caledonian Canal in the Great Glen. This spectacular waterway links Loch Ness, Loch Oich, and Loch Lochy across the Highlands of Scotland. Sheltered waters make for peaceful cruising and enjoyable watersports, whilst walks and cycles ashore can be low or high level and go through beautiful scenery.

Accommodation

The barges are extremely comfortable and spacious and have been converted to accommodate 12 guests in ensuite, centrally heated, bright double cabins. The food is delicious,  the crew friendly and home comforts are excellent.
