Welcome to Castle Semple, the gateway to Clyde Muirshiel, Scotland’s largest Regional Park, just 20 miles west of Glasgow. It provides an easily accessible great escape to enjoy a wide range of water sports and land based activities as well as wildlife watching opportunities.

Activities offered

The Centre specialises in bespoke courses, developed for individuals or groups (min 6), with activities  available throughout the year (weather permitting), at times, durations and locations to suit your needs.

Our activities include Kayaking, Canoeing, Team Building, Raft Building, Orienteering, Archery, Birthday Parties, Sailing, Mountain Biking, Geo-caching, Hill Walking, Powerboat, John Muir Award, Navigation, First Aid, Bespoke Courses, Expeditions on land or water locally and further, away and Foundation safety rescue training

We run activities for

Children and adults, groups, individuals, schools, families, special needs, corporate, non-residential or residential

Location

On the shores of Castle Semple Loch beside the village of Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire, just of the M8/A737 Glasgow to Irvine Road, follow Brown Signs for Castle Semple.

Accommodation

The Regional Park campsite is at Barnbrock, just 4 miles from Castle Semple Centre, on the B786 in the middle of the Renfrewshire countryside.

There are wooden shielings and a large camping area. The shielings can sleep 32 people between the 8 units, 2 of which are accessible to special needs clients.

There is a dedicated group use facilities block, with meeting/dining area and a kitchen. The toilets and showers are fully accessible for special needs clients. The campsite can accommodate up to 20 tents with separate cooking and washing facilities.

Evening activities can be delivered on site. These range from first aid, team games or a night walk, enhancing the residential experience.  

Night paddling or orienteering can be arranged at Castle Semple whilst on a residential stay.
